MLBB Team Philippines took the gold medal in Riyadh

The Philippines has emerged as the victor at the first-ever Gamers 8 IESF Asian Championship, regional qualifiers for the World Esports Championship! In collaboration with Gamers8, the tournament was held in Riyadh, featuring eight Mobile Legends: Bang Bang teams from Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, UAE, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

“We are extremely proud of The Philippines’ efforts at the Gamers 8 IESF Asian Championship. Their conquest is nothing short of formidable, and we hope to see more grand feats at the Romania championship in September.”

Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystem at MOONTON Games

“Congratulations to team Philippines for winning the first IESF Asian Championship in Riyadh. GG to all the teams that participated and I can’t wait to welcome the qualified nations in Romania to the World Championship next month. MLBB is a young game, and thanks to MOONTON Games we were able to provide a unique experience to all athletes.”

Ana Karakolevska, Chief Marketing Officer at IESF

“We offer this victory to our fans back from the Philippines who stayed up late just to finish the matches. The hard work of our Filipino athletes has paid off, and we will continue to train harder to conquer an even bigger arena in Romania.”

Francis Glindro, Head Coach of Sibol MLBB (Team Philippines)

Split between two group brackets of A and B, the Philippines fought their way up to the top with Mongolia. The Filipino squad swept Mongolia with a score of 3:0 in the best-of-five Grand Finals match.
The champions, along with the four top countries namely Mongolia, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia will proceed onto the IESF World Championships in Romania, happening later this year from 24 August to 4 September.
