KRÜ Esports 23-Year-Old Valorant Player Daveeys Passes Away

Professional Valorant player, Santiago “Daveeys” Galvis Ruiz, who was a part of the Argentine esports organization KRÜ Esports has passed away.

The tragic news was publicly announced by the organization on 4th September, according to which Daveeys died on 3rd September, just one day after celebrating his 23rd birthday on 2nd September.

Daveeys was from Colombia, having started his Valorant career in 2020 with a Mexican organization called LAZER and steadily climbing the ladder to join KRÜ Esports in October 2022.

Along with them, Daveeys went on to compete in the VCT 2023 circuit witnessing a roller coaster of emotions as they made a dream run to qualify for the Valorant Champions 2023, sharing the biggest stage with some of the best teams from across the world.

In the statement shared by KRÜ Esports, the organization said “It is with deep sadness that we have to inform you that, after suffering a medical issue (descompensación) on Sunday, Daveeys passed away. There is no way to soften this, it took us all by surprise. Daveeys was a spectacular player and a first-class teammate. With his trademark hard-working humility, he was proud to be able to inspire and represent his country and region at the top of the global Valorant. It was his dream, and he saw it come true.”

KRÜ concluded that in such difficult times they are standing in support with the player’s family and friends, even requesting the Valorant community to extend their strength and love.

There was an outpour of messages by community members, organizations, talents, creators, peers, and teammates condoling the demise of Daveeys.

In the statement released by KRÜ, it was mentioned that Daveeys died after suffering from a decompensation, which translates to failure of an organ. However, nothing specific was mentioned by them or anyone else, so there cannot be any confirmation regarding the same at this point in time.
