Esports bookmaker GG.BET enters Ukrainian market

Esports betting company GG.BET has obtained licences that allow it to operate in the Ukrainian market under the name GG.BET UA.

The exact date for its launch in the market were not disclosed, but GG.BET noted that it plans to soon start offering its betting services in the country.

GG.BET is one of the most-known esports betting companies in the world. The company holds licences in Curacao and the United Kingdom, through its recently-acquired UK Gambling Commission licence. Rednines’ Dr.Bet brand operates under the name GG.BET UK since July 2023. GG.BET is also part of the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC).

The company is also a prominent supporter of esports organisations and events. GG.BET’s long-standing partnership with Ukrainian esports organisation Natus Vincere (NAVI) is well known in esports, and the company has also partnered with Team Vitality, another high-profile esports company. Interestingly, the betting company organised a show match between Team Vitality and NAVI in July 2023. GG.BET was also the exclusive betting partner of PGL Major Antwerp 2022.

Apart from acquiring a betting licence from the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries, the company has also announced that it wants to help develop the country’s esports community and promote the principles of responsible betting and casino gaming. In addition, GG.BET also wants to “work with key sporting figures and implement sports-related social projects” in the country.

GG.BET noted in a release: “Ukraine’s betting market has great potential for development, so for the GG.BET brand to obtain these licenses is both an expected and well-thought-out decision. Ukrainian esports stands out thanks to its fanbase and history of tournaments and resounding victories.
