Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Recover Your Lost Belongings?

Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Recover Your Lost Belongings?

Baldur’s Gate 3 provides players with a ton of quests and storylines. The world of the Forgotten Realms can sometimes be pretty brutal and you might find yourself in lots of tricky situations. One such situation occurs in Emerald Grove, where you will be at the receiving end of a pickpocketing scam by a few Tiefling children. You will end up losing your precious belongings which triggers the “Find Your Belongings” quest. This guide aims to help you get all of your stuff back from the Tiefling kids as well as how to counter them in the first place.

Find Your Belongings Quest Overview

Emerald Grove in Baldur’s Gate 3 is home to a bunch of different questlines. The area is currently occupied by a horde of Tieflings who are stopped from reaching Baldur’s Gate by the local Goblins.

While making your way through Emerald Grove, you will find yourself being approached by a Tiefling child named Mattis who attempts to sell you one of his lucky rings. As you engage in conversation with him, you will find another Tiefling child attempting to rob you of your wares. If you have a higher perception stat you can prevent this from happening as you’ll catch them in the act, otherwise you might have to take a different approach.

Mattis

By the end of the conversation with Mattis, you will find your pockets to be a lot lighter than usual and you will also notice a child climbing down a ladder into a gap between the rocks. If you selected a class that is smaller in size or if you use the enlarge or reduce scroll you, might fit into the gap and easily reach the entrance of their hideout, presumably catching the thief.

If you are unable to do so, you must walk alongside the cliffside beach which is located near the entrance of the Druid’s area. You will hear a mysterious singing, and you will trigger another quest where you must investigate the music. You will find a boy mesmerized by the singing which turns out to be a flock of harpies. After successfully killing the flock, the boy will be saved from the spell and reveal himself as Mirkon. He will also give you the password to the hideout as a gesture for saving him.

Head up the hill past Mattis’s stall and you will find another Tielfing kid called Doni. Upon giving him the password, you will now enter a concealed hatch which will lead you to their hideout. Here, you will meet the leader of the Tiefling children, Mol. If you get on her good side, you will need to do another quest called Stealing the Idol which makes you loot an Idol that Druids use for their ritual.

Successfully completing this quest will grant you a dialogue option through which you can finally access your belongings that will be stored in the loot chest of the Tiefling children.
